I Hope

I pray that my story is worthy of the telling,

I pray that my given path is clear from the start,

And when life whispers sadness, the words are soft compelling,

And when it sings of joy it lifts the very heart,

And in those times between these it offers some contentments,

And when contentment's gone, at least it gives me truth,

And when that truth is crushing it shields me from resentment,

That I should have this burden to shoulder since my youth,

I hope that life is tender even when it dissapoints me,

I hope I see dawn echoed in the dying of the light,

I hope that faintest glimmer has the power to annoint me,

With the wisdom of my years as I walk into the night.

Thanks Dorothy and Keith, in a reflective mood this afternoon, like a kind of, "Catch your breath," type deal.

And thank you Ruth and Ghazala for liking.
