Blood Ties (Part 3): Death (Final)

And so it ends like this
Not with a whimper
And not with a bang.
A century of terror silenced
By the wood that sprouts from my chest

I watch you move around me
My eyes filled with terror and rage
And if I could smile I would.
Irony has not forsaken me
And no doubt that
From beyond her uneasy grave,
She is smiling too

Was it too much for you?
My poisoned love?
Did our perverted courtship
Drown in the ritual of blood?
You will never tell
And I will never know
It does not matter anyway

I watch you heft your axe
I feel my fate become sealed
And as my pleading eyes meet yours,
As the axe begins its grim descent,
If I could tell you that I love you
I would.

I'm presuming that this series is one great metaphor about the meaning of life. Or maybe a film script for a horror movie - except it seems to have more point than simple atrocity. Would you make a comment? I'm interested.
