Blood Ties (Part 2): Communion

Hold out your arm, sweetness
Run your blade across the wrist
And press it to my lips.
Let me taste as the life flows out of you
Let me know you like no other.

Let me take my dark communion
And taste your holiness in my mouth
Let me soar in perfect rapture
Through the blood red skies of your mind

Let me drink from you deeply
And let me experience you completely
Everything you are
And everything you were
Passing between my lips

Fall back now, sweetness, exhausted
As my lips retreat from your flesh
Save your strength
For I will return tomorrow night
And every other.

This is really good. It keeps the reader seductively gripped all the way through. Diction, technical musicality and rhythm are strong. Have you been watching a lot of telly lately?
