If I were a memory

There is something so magical about old classical music that sounds like it's written for a Brittish Queen. That type of magisty found in Disney princesses, when you're introduced to it as a kid, it is wonderful. But the characters in Disney movies are women who are princesses. When a child sees that they think, "is that me?" Am I just as special? Am I royalty? No." Back then I didn't know what I know now. I am just as magical as all those princesses. I'm royalty in my heart and I want to take it to the top. Maybe because I believe in myself. And my pride gets hurt even admitting that, because I don't want to seem too proud. Everyone's supposed to hate themselves, right? I know people who do. And I have too. But I do believe in myself as special and I also know I'm not perfect. I accept that.

. . . . .

If I were a memory from the past and I saw the future of what could be, I could predict speaking to myself in the future. I could predict my future self's reply. I would travel to the future and my future self will travel to the past by her memory of me.

I like seeing things as they could be. And listening for my future self's cries. The soul within my core which calls from the future, the soul that I won't be uncovered until later on.

What if I was your memory. This moment wrapped in stone and placed in your mind with some words. There is a stone on your mind because I just put in there. Mind control, see? You think mind control DOESN'T exist? What do you think "group think" is?? If someone has the power to influence your mind, there you go.

Not ONLY does the media and society influence your expectations from a childhood on, but so does also the way you were raised, the values and expectations which were taught to you from your parents as good and wise and right.

Even how watching how your parents lived their lives, even if THAT was influenced by their parents, it influences you're values. Generations of expectations passed down.

If I can place a moment of time writing here in your mind, I have some power of influence. Influence equals power. The more influence you have in the world, the more powerful you are. Hitler was powerful and he mind controlled all those people. Those people also validated and "mind controlled" him as well. Back and forth.

If the people in powerful position in the world with the most influence chose to create a movement of responsability, truth and love (not violence, greed, bad attitudes, etc) the world woud have a chance to become freer and more enlightened. Instead you turn on the news and you see the competitive rat race of nasty political debates and their telling half-truths to get people skewed in their minds to believe half-lies. Instead of people coming together to really discuss our issues and work together to resolve them with ALL honesty. There is so much corruption, competition, hiding truth in goverment, and mind control. What makes us think that our leaders are any better (less sinful) than Hitler. Polititions are "playing the game" set up for them, they follow the rules already laid out for them. Will no one with truth speak out? If someone truly good and honest wanted to become the president, they'd just be shot for not playing the game by their rules. How can we really fix our issues if we have polar extremes in polities batteling it out instead of getting honest and talking it out and working together?

It seems I am under the mistaken impression that WOL is a 'poetry' site. It seems I can write anything I want. Doesn't have to have any poetic characteristics at all e.g. stanzas, rhythm, rhyme, meter.

Might try some jokes. Non-poetic of course......

Why is this on a poetry website? It has no characteristics of a poem - rhythm, rhyme or meter. It is just a very long monologue with a story format. This is not a comment either way as to it's content. It is not 'poetry' so how can one be expected to comment?. Hence my question, why is it on a poetry website?
