A Little Wooden Angel

entry picture

This is my first post I hope of many to come. Thank you for accepting me and my poetry. I have recently started a blog that showcases my writing. I hope to see some of you there. https://creativewritingwithbsk.com. I have been writing for well over a decade, but shyness has keep me as a closet poet you can say. I am not getting any younger, so it's now or never. I have over two hundred poems about life and the public has never seen much of it. Sad, Huh? Yeh, I thought so. The reason for the blog.

A Little Wooden Angel, I wrote very early on and is one of my favorites. I had been struggling to find a publisher for my first book and thought I wasn't good enough to publish. Then I wrote this and learned different. This is a true story. I welcome all comments and critique. Though I am shy, I am not thin skin. I expect not to be everyone's cup of tea, but I believe if we write we all have a duty to share. Thanks again.

A Little Wooden Angel

It was an early part of November,

When the air has a chill.

Frustration ruled my days.

Roadblocks came despite my will.

I wasn't sure where I was going.

I was afraid I lost my way.

Praying to the heavens, a sign.

To tell me this was the right way.

A friend suggested a ride,

To ease my weary spirit.

An old abandon farm house,

An adventure to excite the spirit.

The house was old, dark and musty.

A stuffed fireman's suit tossed from wear.

Cob webs line the corners,

Lots of dust covered everywhere.

Then my eye caught a corner.

In a fold of a worn-out chair.

I couldn't believe my eyes,

A little wooden angel laid there.

The heavens sent me

A little wooden angel to find.

Nothing more precious than this,

.......I could ever find.

Now my little wooded angel,

She guards over me day and night.

Reminding me I am not alone

Keeping away my earthly fright.

So each time my fears and doubts,

Crept into my long hard days.

I hold my little wooden angel,

I remember that special day.

When heaven sent me a sign,

Releasing my fears away.

Finding that little wooden angel.

I know now...

The path I am on is the Right Way!

What signs has the Universe sent you?
