Don At Work – Please Do Not Disturb

Why do I name myself

In poems that I write?

dk, Devon, Lisa, others

Approve, say it's alright

Why do I name myself

In poems (from my mind)?

It's hard to put a finger on

A reason I can find

(But I'll try....)

Calling myself a 'he' or 'him'

Is impersonal to me

Damn! I won't be a he or him

In my poetry

So why does he name himself

In poems current, gone?

It's not a 'he' who holds his pen

It's someone they call Don

Golly gosh! Lisa's sprinkled me with stardust
I'm blushing from head to my toes
I'm glad our techs have not yet skyped WOL
My blushings would all be on shows

It seems, Lisa says, I'm from Dominus
One of the masters of WOL?
I even go back to the Romans!
(My greatgreatgrand-daddy could've been Cicero?).......

Again I will state this morning...
Always be proud of who you are!

Don, abbreviated as D., is an honorific prefix primarily used in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the Philippines. Don, and dom, is derived from the Latin Dominus; a master of a household, a title with background from the Roman Republic in the Antiquity.(Wikipedia)
