Bye Dad

The clocks missed a beat today,

Moments marked by incisive ticks,

Fused into one stretched pause in time,

As you stepped away,

From the arms of those around you,

And into the arms of those gone before.

Only to feel their warmth once more.

Don't worry David, I certainly didn't take it that way, and thank you.

No, I don't really believe in a life beyond this life either, but there are those that do and those that find comfort in it.
My Dad died yesterday, so I wrote something. Don't know why, thought it might help.

Jason - I echo Devon's ' I am glad that you chose the short form for this'. It has a much greater impact than a 'long form'. To me.

Jason, this is a truly beautiful poem. I am glad that you chose the short form for this - it allows readers to recede into their own memories of love and loss.

Hi Jason. These few words are bursting with reaffirmation of love past, present and future; and the care that will endure. Your dad was clearly special; and I imagine you to him.
