YESTERDAY ONCE MORE - a re-post for Summer

Pausing high above the beach,

I watch the children out of reach,

Racing down the golden sand,

Leaping...laughing...hand in hand.

Children dancing in the sea

Remind me how I used to be,

Free from care and full of fun,

A happy boy beneath the sun.

Time goes by, yet time stands still,

And moment follows moment till

What is now once went before

And what is past returns once more.

I watch the children in the sea

And when I laugh, they laugh with me,

And when they shout, I shout with joy!

Again I am that happy boy.

Thanks for the comments and the "likes".
A warm summer afternoon by the sea in Devon had me sitting on a cliff-top bench watching the folk on the beach below. These lines
lodged in my mind as I looked down at the happy holidaymakers
having fun.

Youth let us
Have so much
Oldies can look
But cannot touch ?

Certainly takes me back to happy summer days as a carefree youngster.

You've caught me up with this in your sheer boyish ecstasy Mark. A simple rhyming reaching back which brings the whole focus of age crashing down like those waves with a hop and a skip!

I think I may get caught up in the light, fun, and positive today. Thanks, MC.
