Norma Jean

First day of June in twenty six

Blonde bombshell born

will star in many flicks

Childhood spent in foster care

but stood out from the crowd

especially her hair,

her beauty and so much so

she was popular with the guys

who all wanted to know

who she was, where was she from?

Where did she tarry?

At sixteen though

she went and got married

Oh Norma Jean your still a star

Now in the sky away and far

Your in our hearts and in our minds

Your memory won’t fade at all with time

Destined not to last

It ended really fast

Glamour modelling

acting roles

Front page pin up

agents in control

Stardom transpired

a huge fan base

Every mag and paper

wanted your face

Reporters running

all over the place

Oh Norma Jean your still a star

Now in the sky away and far

Your in our hearts and in our minds

Your memory won’t fade at all with time

Then in ‘52 a scandal broke through

Marilyn revealed in an interview

she had posed for nude pictures,

in calendars now featured

This only served to aid success

Big movies, celebrations, lots of cheers

Winning ‘rising star of the year’

The rest is history or so they say

A massive celebrity in so many ways

A fun loving girl such a crying shame,

it ended so tragically,

the pressure of fame to blame

Oh Norma Jean your still a star

Now in the sky away and far

Your in our hearts and in our minds

Your memory won’t fade at all with time

The lines:

Oh Norma Jean you're still a star
Now in the sky away and far

are clever and add a touch of rhyme to the piece:.
