Ding! Dong!

Hello to this, for me, new universe of WOL. This poem was 'uninspired'. I was give the first line as a challenge to see if I could make a poem from it. Can there be good 'uninspired 'poetry?

Ding! Dong!

Who's that ringing my doorbell?

That ding-dong-dinging's hard to ignore.

Better get out of my shell.

Have they got nice stuff to sell?

Or are they collecting for the poor?

Who's that ringing my doorbell?

Someone with a tale to tell?

Or my needy neighbour needing more?

Better get out of my shell.

Maybe a ragged rebel

Escaping death in an unjust war?

Who's that ringing my doorbell?

A friend come to say farewell?

A lonely wandering dinosaur?

Better get out of my shell.

I don't know, I can't foretell,

But there it goes, louder than before.

Who's that ringing my doorbell?

Better - - get out of - - my shell!

I enjoyed the perceived connection about what we respond to in this
life...its demands and expectations. I will add:
Aha - who's that at my door I see?
Are they there for what they want
Or are they there for me? ?
