Driving Miss Maisie

Mirror, signal, manoeuvre

Make sure you have the appropriate shoes on

Ease off the clutch when your ready to go

It’s not a race but don’t go too slow,

or they’ll fail you for not keeping

up with the flow.

It’s called not making normal progress you see

You can even overtake a car or three,

provided you take due care and attention

Not everything in the Highway Code

is covered and mentioned.

Driving you Maisie can be a joy,

but today you seem tense, alert and poised,

for whatever you are expecting to happen,

so let’s hope for the best,

and we don’t go crashing,

into that posh new shopfront again,

when you skidded off the road in heavy rain

The police weren’t impressed,

so you were put on probation,

it didn’t do a lot for my reputation,

as the only driving instructor in town,

for months on end I was really down

All this and my friends say I must be crazy

But I just can’t resist driving Miss Maisie

Mirror, signal before any manoeuvre

and oh by the way, Maisie...

I think I love you
