Bach

I saw a barque

And it was painted in Rome

Where it called home

What a lark a baroque barque

The baroque barque was made

from trees stripped stark of covering bark

And as the shipwrights stripped

They made great wooden attack

To the haunting tunes of Sebastian Bach

What a lark to make a baroque barque

stripped of bark listening to Bach

A lofty matter when composing a cantata

For lovely baroque Bach on his

Barque sailing up to a Catholic mark

In a baroque barque shorn stark of bark

so accompanied by heavenly Bach.

Thanks guys I have read this in public and it took a great deal of practice to nail it. Thank you for your comments, David glad to bring beauty into your breakfast cereal.

No small achievement this Phil. It would be quite demanding to read in the right way to an audience, a challenge. A great idea, almost a Bach invention in itself. Talking of him, I bought a Jacques Loussier CD recently. Quite stylistic in its time.

Nice one . Ray
