Ekphrastic Visions - February 2019 Collage Poem

entry picture

Helix barriers all over the world

Riddles flow through digital death traps

What is a man now with no cheap cigars

A mad dead love of afterthoughts gone

Mad Tony's hologram cycles around the

Lanes of South Wales as Alexa

Shouts "Give us 20 pence!"

Ooh! I can see Winnie the Pooh

In The wardrobe!

The candle, the book, and the wardrobe;

Wet washing and daggers; the black and the grey.

Poems in cardboard boxes wait to be unpacked

Cardboard words that fake emotions

Words and images, like jigsaw pieces

Horses sit in the docks at Salford Quays

In Lowry's  legacy holding hands with Tony Wilson

Horse-whipping sex shame, not quite

Religious, stick to walking your dog pull

Wesley's the John

And the Charles

To whoa Esmi

When Bunyan's progress no longer touches

Girls' kinetic hearts.

Though I wasn't there at the end when this was created, I identify with it and was present in a strange spirit of the night...…...
