Palestine
The living death of those oppressed
should long ago have been addressed
by those that we entrust with power,
their own comforts ensured by the hour.
Now in this world some corrupt schemes
ensure the rich will get their dreams,
while most will perish with naught to show
for all the time they struggled to grow.
Must survival of those whose elders died
in torture chambers of which so many lied,
continue to bring hardships for those next door,
halting support from those who still implore?
Why stop the basic goods they need,
can ever peace hope to succeed,
while water, food and medication
is denied to that tiny nation.
More years go by and so entrench
the passions of those that wrench
and scrape a living in the dust
it must end soon, it surely must.
Do not divide and denigrate,
bring on the love, eschew the hate,
for never have old conflicts died
while logic is denied by foolish pride.
Take up the banner and wave it high
for none should still seek to deny
the truth that's seen when once allowed
by forces which beat the pleading crowd.
