UK's Best Days

It is fascinating to watch the overtures

Of Britain now it's 'close to the wire'

On the one hand planning naval bases in Singapore

Wanting return to an Empire

On the other hand they still want some cream

That life on the EU did bring

Like slipping 'cross the channel for holidays

In Portugal and Spain in the spring

In reality it's the painful death agony

Of a country that's seen better days

A country that once was a great one

It's best days sadly slipping away

What is you need in a navel base Don?

errr. 'ships' well we are a tad short of ships
which for an island country is a bit short sighted.

If, and its a big if, we did have any why would we dock them aboard when we need them at home.

Two aircraft carriers... ha! ha! that's a little way off, and zillions of pounds waisted as it would take just a nanosecond to send them to the bottom of the briny with the DEW.

Shussssssh! Don't mention the 'secret' Directed Energy Weapons

I know what you're trying to say Don, albeit with muddled thinking. We are punching way above our weight so it's inevitable that our position in the world will slip.
