I saw her standing there

and suddenly thought;

what a wonderful title for a song;

but of course i'm not the Beatles,

so using the idea would have been so very wrong.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier David. We have to treasure our odd corners - I guess the tourists like them too - there will be imitators and attempts to hijack them. Think of the Queen Mary and London Bridge for example.

Cheers, Ray

This is way beyond compare Ray.

Are Americans aware of rhyming slang? I'll say no more.

Probably my favourite awful rendition of "I saw her standing there"

Fee Waybil was famously arrested for waving his bishop about on stage almost everywhere he went. The Tubes were a class act, of course even they could not compare to the Beatles.

Hi Big Sal. Actually what I had in mind was that even geniuses don't always come up with poetic lines as in this case. Production and delivery of songs are key to impact. Thanks anyway!

Hi Stu, My favourite Beatles album is still "The best of the Beatles." Hope you're well my friend.

Thanks folks for the likes, much appreciated.

You say you’re no Beatles, Ray, but I’m no James Blunt either so we’re even.
