Can I be alone - impatient with this modern obsession for "holidays"?

Participants in a procession following some "fun and folly" craze!.

Personally, I see these vacations as parting "lolly from a wally" ways

In this age of food banks I marvel as the flash of "cash to dash" pays.

And just you wait - on their return from these various visitations

You can be sure they'll bring back some unwanted infestations...

Diseases - or some insect life stowed away unchecked in a suitcase

Unleashed unseen to bite the wife or aggravate a neighbouring fruitcase.

Who unwittingly becomes a victim of the "holidays" (supposedly enjoyed!) 

When invited round to see tans obtained while not gainfully employed.

Those traipsing off on "holidays" are like devotees to obscure religions

To be followed without question - yet coming back like homing pigeons.

Personally, I wish they'd stay far away - and preferably abroad,

And spare the rest of us from being infected - or worse: from being bored!
