an exploration

What is an appropriate poem when standing on a mountain top?

I don't want one that will lead me into canyons of the city
Where Leviathan dwells.

Or an epic that will remind me of lost loves or the girl with tears in her eyes -
I'm so sorry Jenny.
Honestly, I didn't know you cared that much.

I do not wish a didactic poem that teaches me how to be a man.

(although one that told me how to skip like a goat, or live as a marmot would be acceptable)

No, I want to be connected to earth and sky

or at least touch the fibers that run from the horsetail clouds to speckled granite.

So that the Dynamic that is transmitted therein will also flow through me,

and floating slightly above my feet
I will return to the lower places.

A crossroads of a choice spoken poetically.?

Good news, John. It didn't take me as long to ponder the question as I thought it would.

Sure, if I can soar, I'll take that!

which reminds me of a cartoon I once saw: two guys are looking at the crumpled form of Icarus sprawled in front of them. One says to the other, "Technically, he flew too close to the ground."

That's a good question, John. And seriously, I want to take some time to ponder it and get back to you on that.

Thanks for commenting.

But would you be content with floating when you can soar?

A stupendous description on watching life as it literally floats by from a good vantage point
Nice one
