DANSE MACABRE

The Angel of Death was dancing

in a veil of gossamer grey,

close by her side the Grim Reaper pressed

as night faded into day.

He grinned through his hood like a gentleman should

while her wings caught the light of the moon;

like shattered glass in a ravaged dawn

they sparkled then faded away.

Thanks Heart of Lead. Praise indeed. Welcome to the site.

Thanks Anya. I'll take that as a compliment!

A rare thing is the true gentleman Brian, thanks.

Taylor, a nice response as it is a bit mystical.

Glad you like it Don !

Cheers Mark - Save the last dance for me.

Thanks Jon, short and very sweet!

Jennifer, always a pleasure . My humour intervened with the grin, just a quirky idea that I felt made it more interesting. Also, never trust a gentleman until you're sure of one.

Thanks David. Yes, that is the bottom line, agreed. Great clip too, enjoyed that. Dodgy doings for sure.

Too kind Martin. Blink and you might miss it. Glad it worked for you.

Thanks for the additional likes. Starfish, Darren and The Carbon Quill.

A wonderful little ditty Ray. I don't normally like this particular kind of verse , but you bring a whole new dimension to it.

Nice one

Fantastic as usual! Candidate for POTW? If may presume, not so sure about the first line of the second verse. Up to then the images and language are fairly formal language, but grin is informal, and why a gentleman? Anyway, loved it.

Really envy your output, and all good stuff! I take ages to produce anything decent!
