At the Assisted Living

the folks would all agree

that sleeping is a blessing

their main activity 

 

With power chairs they gather

with walkers and with canes

their lives are hardly active

inactivity is their game

 

In blissful sleep, old codgers

some retired, and some restrained

do less, yet seem to prosper

while sleeping, it's explained

 

There's no sense in being active

a senior secret that they keep

the fun is in the dreaming

less problems if asleep.
