Hyperbole

I love you to the moon and back,

But what about the air you’ll lack?

You really look a million bucks;

Wrinkled and green, oh man that sucks!

So hungry I could eat a horse;

But that’s absurd, I’d burst of course!

I have a million things to do;

Please don’t be daft, that’s just not true.

It took forever to arrive;

If that was so, who’d be alive?

He said her teeth were blinding white;

But if he’s blind, can’t see them, right?

I just don’t have two cents to spare;

Turn out your pockets if you dare.

His thirst could drink a river dry;

He’d drown if he would only try.

When I saw her she stole my heart;

A tribute to her surgeon’s art?

I hope you’ve smiled at all this stuff,

Cos that’s your lot, I’ve had enough!

This is great - can I use it with my English students? Could you write one about the overuse of the phrase "in a nutshell" too please?
