Season's Change

entry picture

Below a grey somnolent day

under the early autumn summer rain…

Their coalescing silhouettes fade

into a withering mist…

Of tobacco smoke and vape…

Flying notes of a guitar

break the silent space

of a birds summer requiem…

in a melancholic hearts embrace…

Young hopes disguised

travel through the window pane…

invade a lone sunlight ray…

And their coalescing silhouettes fade

Into a withering mist…

Of tobacco smoke and vape…

It might just not be too late…

A new season’s birth…

Or perhaps…

Just like Nina Simone once sang…

A new dawn…

A new day…

And their coalescing silhouettes fade

Into a withering mist…

Of tobacco smoke and vape…

Thank you Anya!!!

Thank you Rose, drifting would work too but I guess I went for flying in juxtaposition with the birds requiem who I viewed singing while resting on a branch...

Wow Ray!!! I would have never recognised you by your profile photo!!! Thank you!!! It was a great evening of fantastic poetry by a group of very talented poets!!! Very inspiring!!!

Nice to read your poems as well as listening live to them(Lightbox on Thursday) Xoanxo. A well captured atmosphere, all soft edges and thoughts - almost ethereal. I enjoyed your tribute to a friend last week.
Great irresistible voice rendition and a refined guitar make it memorable!

very wistful and beautiful piece Xoanado ( cool name! ) do you think drifting rather than flying notes would read better?

just a friendly thought.
