It Was At That Age

It was at that age

that poetry arrived

in search of me

that age when

confusion reigned

and I was lost

along the way

poetry arrived

but could not

come inside

I was too frightened

to answer

then She

came along

and all the restlessness

was quietened

with her

I finally found my purpose

and my poetry

and with these

found myself as well.

I really relate to this poem. Poetry came looking for me to it knocked on the door until I had to let it out. ?

Great poem - I echo the words from Becky.

Well spotted - I don't think I had ever noticed the little man in the corner before and would certainly not have thought to look at the words on his page.

Cheers

I like this. Particularly as Becky says with Poetry coming looking for you and not vice versa. ?

Me too! The first couple of stanzas speak to me particularly. I love the idea of poetry coming looking.
