trine poem based on a norwegian gal bass player

TRINE

Special gig Norway style saw Leaves Eyes and loved it so,

better than London gig two weeks before.

Met Liv, the singer, who looked just like she did

on the album cover, real woman.

My vocation, my music, to meet another heroine.

Octavia, five Norse girls, count them as they come on stage,

where is the singer? There! Look at my cd booklet—

me and two lads see the gals, here!

Music starts, I pick which is my girl who I want to make love to,

keyboard gal has nice legs in tights, bass gal silly guitar!

Tug on my memory. Get to meet her and talk,

how long have you played a Rickenbacker?

It’s not mine, a 1974 one, rare… comes into focus.

Susi Hoffs of the Bangles, my first heroine.

Trine asks me if I play bass? No my dear, I’m a poet.

You’re like Susi Hoffs, not many girls play a Rickenbacker,

only you, a 1974. Said I saw some Norway bands,

see you again? I mustn’t get too deep but your music is my cause

and you rock my world, as only you can.

Black dress, knee length boots with tights,

brown hair and pretty face. Got to meet you,

talk to you, interact. Would love to make love to you,

where would we be then?

A rock ’n roll moment, imagine more…
