Fire in the Head Workshops

Fire in the Head are offering some exciting new workshops in Devon for you to kick-start the new decade with inspiration, insight and a fresh burst of creativity.

Tomorrow, Saturday January 9th, is the Moorpoets workshop ‘Turning Towards the Light’ to be held at South Brent Old Scholl Hall, South Brent, Devon. The day starts at 10am and will finish at 4pm – but as with everything at this time of year, please check beforehand that the workshop will be running. If you can’t make tomorrow perhaps Sunday, 7th February might be better? Held at Higher Beenleigh Barn, Nr Diptford, Totnes, and by popular demand: Thresholds – this wild and precious life: creating the year you want. This workshop also runs from 10am to 4pm.  

You don’t need to be a Buddhist to take part in Writing the Bright Moment – mindfulness and haiku, at Sharpham Buddhist College, Sharpham, Ne Totnes. This one day workshop will be on Saturday, 27th March.

There are only a few places left on Islands of the Heart, a one-week writing retreat on the Isle of Iona in the Hebrides which runs from Monday, 19th April – Saturday, 24th April.

Ground of Being is a one day workshop on eco-poetry, to be held at Merrivale on Dartmoor on Sunday, 20th June.

And finally, if you can’t make it to Devon for a workshop, there are two correspondence course that might be of interest. Elements of Poetry is a six month correspondence course which starts in May 2010, but numbers are limited so apply early. The novel writing course – Storymaking, is also a six month course, and this can be joined at any time.

All workshops are open to all age groups and abilities.
