Fake news...fake religion...fake science - take your pick.  It usually has "money" in there somewhere!

 

In this world that we all share

We must be sure to be aware

Of our responsibility to mind

For each Earthly thing of any kind..

 

And we must also recognise

Those who see with other eyes

Whose views are not the same as ours

With values prey to other powers.

 

They put material needs ahead

Of anything that might be said

To save and serve and bravely shield.....

And instead are all too keen to wield 

 

Power and circumstance to suit...

And sanctimonious lines they shoot

About protecting this and that

While finding ways of growing fat

 

Upon the fears that are inspired

By ruthless imaginations fired

Of Armageddon looming nigh

With all we know condemned to die -

 

Unless we subscribe to THEIR views

And let them produce stuff to use;

Research and testing costs SO much

And we, of course, provide that crutch.

 

Essentially we can be fooled

By two-faced fakes so we are ruled

By imagined fears of what might come

And choose instead to be dumb -

 

Frightened of being considered dense

When with a little common sense

We could comprehend much more

Of what the future might have in store.

 

So - information more than ever

Is here to help us in human endeavour

And avoid any chance of veering

Towards the gospel of "false-profiteering"!
