My Feet Have Gone Missing

My Feet Have Gone Missing

The last time I looked down,
I'm sure I saw them on the ground.
When I was sitting in my chair,
I'm quite sure that they were there.

I couldn't see my brand new shoes,
I couldn't see my slippers,
and even though they were big, I couldn't see my flippers.

In the end what I found,
when I was looking to the ground,
if I slightly adjusted my belly.
Finally I could see my wellies.

My feet went missing on the bus,
Didn't report it and cause a fuss.
My dog was lying on them down there,
Showing his love and how much he did care.

I can NOT believe this is autobiographical! That said...
And if your feet were bare
Would still see them there
By leaning over your toes
And peering down your nose?

Nice to see you putting excerpts from your newest book. Can't wait to get this new one and see what's in store. Like I said before Taylor - silent films, pure connections, and anything else is just the icing on an already perfect cake of what you write about.

That's what I loved about your first book: so much diversity in its substance, and even though each poem on it was so connected, it felt like never getting the same plate twice. Always finding new ways to say old memories!

Keep going strong.?

I also have some feet
Which also go a'missing
I always seem to find them
When I go a'pissing

I have no belly Rose
Nor wear no nine-inch stetts
Brothel creepers have I none
Nor gimp suit, have I yet

(what the heck's a gimp suit Rose? Should I get one to look cool? ? we're a bit behind with the fashion down here)

Now Brian you tempt fate
I'm jealous as all hell
I'm bubbling up with levity
Cannot you bloody tell

Poor Taylor I am sorry
Your poem I did like
You took a different pathway
A different path to hike

Come back and join me girl
Add levity and light
