Earthly Treasure

Happiness that fly high up in the skies

Songs that lightens up the fires in our lives

All belong here on earth

Nothing is there to take along

High where everyone sleeps above

Relations we bear

Bonds that we all share

Friendship that we hold so dear

All belong here and only here

Nothing from this earth we can take away

Where one day our souls will rest forever

Wealth earned that can never give

Everything we dream to have

Everything there is to weep

Even though we think money can buy us all

Only not the happiness

That lies within our heart lies so deep

Nothing is there to take

Everything we see around will break

Still we clutch to whatever we dear

Even though we know death itself is so near

Not for us but for all

We must know in this world

Only the earthly treasure we need

Is love and nothing at all

A truly wonderful poem about facing mortality.
