Bi-Polar Poetry

Seek help they say, don’t bottle it

or throttle it back any longer

By doing this you’ll be stronger

I’m strong in my own eyes

Why?  Because I still survive

A never ending tsunami tide

A roaring surf of emotional conflict

Riding on guilts, responsibilities, anxieties

Dread of the fear of disappointment

Expert strategies against my mind

A perfect facade that people find

different, a personality of a unique kind

Do they see underneath the thin veneer?

The up close and personal grin to cheer

To divert away from the truth beneath

In my wildest dreams I toss I turn

Whilst flashbacks cause my skin to burn

With a prickly heat, this thing I have to beat!

Come on man, relax or tighten up

Which is it to be today, smooth or rough?

Break down and cry isn’t good enough

Pull yourself together, people count on you

To support them, fight and get them through

Their health problems and social ones too

So yes, seek help they say, don’t bottle it

or throttle it back any longer

By doing this you’ll be stronger!

"Don't bottle it" indeed. Wise words not spoken enough.?
