The Fox Visited Me Last Night

The Fox Visited Me Last Night

Soft brown eyes that scour the night.
A flash of white tail as you take flight.

Stealthily you come to me.

Nose in the air as unfamiliar scents waft by
A full moon guiding you from on high..
Ears alert to every sound.
Soft paws pad through the undergrowth.
Making their way to more solid ground.

Always ready to retreat and disappear into the night.

Your life a battle to survive.
A constant will to stay alive.

Your bark so shrill, gives me a chill.
I wonder where are you.
Are you here with me still?

As long as the vulpine didn't get into the hen house right? Love the imagery you put forth. Would fit very well on an epigraph.?

Well-captured, Taylor, very sensitive. Good ending - the human factor, feeling the connection.
