Into the Fire

entry picture

Into the fire

into the night

watching over you from a frightful height.

I see you questioning everything in sight

looking for the answers beyond that of tonight.

A young soul not to have found a way

in understanding the rules of play.

Into the fire

into the night

time will unwrap you from the night

a place where all find themselves

before they can see the light.

Too young to be established

too old to be noticed

holding on to feelings of doubt

that go beyond your shadows of pout.

Intoxicating the connection of freewill

with a desire to unfollow all the rules

has this been set before you

clouded by the fool of judgement.

The fire is life

the night is time

ready to unfold

parents watching over you with perspective

Listen

before you lose your objective.

Into the fire

into the night

watching over you from a frightful height.

No biggie.

I have books that I've written and then read over 10 times and still have found mistakes in unlikely places. I guess it's easier to notice in someone else's work because I'm not worrying about my own voice saying what was written. Either way, looking forward to more poems put from your way.

Good piece. I don't know if you meant to, but is 'loose your objective' supposed to be 'lose or loosen'? Either way, good poem.?
