Sorrow

One cold winters day,

In a place not too far away.

A friend is living a lie,

forever telling me she wishes to die.

She lives in pure hell,

Although nobody is able to tell.

She says she is "done"

Although she has sure fooled everyone.

Although she cannot fool me.

I've had the luxury to listen and see.

Things started looking better.

A few weeks go by and she recieves a letter.

Her father has been accepted,

She is now feeling neglected.

He has to travel far away,

He promises to write every day.

The letters from him randomly stop,

They open the door to a sergeant and cop.

He asks to speak to her guardian,

Mother finishes talking and reaches for her cardigain.

Her mother is scared and crying.

The girl needs to stay strong, she's trying.

They rush into a big empty room,

One look at the body, their lives fill with gloom.

The girl makes a call,

Beginning to break down and fall.

"I'm in my room, I can't stop crying,

Matter of fact, I'll just stop trying!"

The line goes silent, I rush to her house.

Kick in the door, too quiet in the house.

She isn't home anymore?

Why wouldn't she lock the door?

It's late, too dangerous to roam.

I worry so much, hesitantly walking home.

Somewhere close she sits and cries,

Taking a blade and carving up her thighs.

Nobody will know, nothing to explain,

She's sick inside, she enjoys the pain.

She will silently weep,

Never knowing a peaceful sleep.

Why should she bother?

The letters no longer from her father.

Many nights he had cried,

He fought hard and he died.

He fought for their rights,

Peacefully entering the lights.

Now it's a sad sad day,

in a place not too far away.

Her life comes to an end,

One less person to call a "friend."

A father and daughter will reunite.

Forever remembered for their last fight.
