subjugation (the lesser of two evils)

An angel skidding in

between outstretched wings

drags behind his fantail

and sparks the flames--

the air is sheared and feet

dig deep into the turning earth

to send forth tremors

and stir from sleep

both the restless

and the peaceful...

We know these things:

there are N many revolutions

in an age

and Z is the magnitude of tears

that have touched the sun.

Yet, we cannot fathom the thing

we did to bring him here

nor can we calculate

what we must do

to set him free...

Hey Sal...I've just been perusing some of Sadistik's work to explore the reference before I reply to you but can't seem to narrow it down without taking a long detour from "what I'm supposed to be doing". Sincerely, I would like to listen--if you see this, would you kindly send a link my way?

The rapper Sadistik also does a magnificent rendition of angels and their manifestations. Words applied differently to the same monster still paint a different scene. Good poem to bleed these thoughts out onto.?

Hey Suki,

I find the stories surrounding angels fascinating--such terrible and fearsome creatures who showed man all manner of capability, including how to make war. Yet, despite the nature of the myths that surround them, people somehow associate their image with gentle feminine beauty. I am perplexed, to say the least.

Thanks for the link--Maynard is a genius.

Good to hear from you, Suki,

Hi Rachel,

Here's my Perfect Circle contribution. I'm sure you know this one:

A song to soak into, rather like your poem. I love it!

No apologies necessary. The comment is actually a vague reference to a line in a movie. I keep thinking it's from RED, but maybe not.

This isn't the easiest way to communicate clearly, I know. No worries.

That's one of A Perfect Circle's latest. I try never to pass up a chance to showcase good music.

Stupendously marvellous? Sounds like a threat to me ?

Providing an answer to your question, David, seems to me like an admission of belief. Call me a weasel if you like, but I would rather not be pinned.

I find the self-explanatory somewhat boring and useless. After all, do readers really want to know what's on my mind or what's in theirs?

Take care, to all of you, David, Hazel, Damon, and Adam--and thanks for keeping it interesting.

Strong stuff. Open to personal interpretation which I really enjoy.
