40-night bender

Just a single ray

breaks through the

orange-blocker gray

and the secret fear

again creeps in

and says it may soon

stop raining in your head--

stop this ceaseless erasure

and dig yourself in

so that the drowning shoots

may soon emerge...

or find yourself new old ground

on which to begin

again.

Good evening, Colin, David and Brian.

I worried slightly that this question might arise when posting, but decided it should go either way--the counsel could be meant for another or for me. I mean, by definition of the golden rule, any "good" advice given would be disingenuous if not also equally applied to the self.

On a personal note, there is always the persistent struggle of planned future endeavor against present reality--the possible fruit of it all remains a source of inner contention.

Thanks for your comments and the source of some further communication of my own to you.

Rachel

I'll be honest...I haven't a clue what it's about.

what a brill poem Rachel - feels very much like you have someone very specific in mind and your words of advice are offered with genuine concern and friendship. Quite comforting in a way. Solid writing. All the best, Col.
