SCOUSER LOUSERS

Loris Karius - the young Liverpool ''keeper

Finished in Kiev a woebegone weeper,

Paying the price for some momentary mistakes

That probably see him suffering the shakes

With PTS flashbacks that won't set him free...

Memories to haunt him and not let him be.

The abuse online from rude Scouser fans

Should sentence those morons to suffer life bans

But Liverpool supporters are a self-pitying lot

And like to play victim as often as not.

But go back in time to the Munich disaster

When Manchester United (classier and faster)

Suffered vile chants from Liverpool quarters

To mock their return by the Scouser supporters.

Nothing much changes in that way it seems

As Karius and others lose sight of their dreams,

But Scousers should remember he's one of their own

And not leave him despondent, dejected and alone!

Brian/Hannah...
Thanks for the observations.
If football is a religion what happened to the forgiveness
it preaches? That lot seems more akin to fanatics than
footie fans.

One of the most difficult jobs of all must be a goal keeper.
Loved this poem.
The religion of football.

Whenever I meet a scouser they go into a standup routine. I think they think it's expected of them.
