Ice cream and dreams of tomorrow

Down on the beach
I took your hand
And we walked along the sand
Then bare foot we paddled
By the ebb of the tide
Then climbed over the dunes
And I kissed you there
In the afternoon sun
When the heat was at its strongest
I held you in my arms
And felt your heart beating
Next to my own
I could have so easily got lost in your eyes
And there is nowhere else
That I would rather be
Than here with you
Everything feels right
When I'm close to you
Like this is how it’s supposed to be
We walk back across the sand
With ice cream and dreams of tomorrow
Knowing that we are on the right track
And the future will always be bright.
