Duty as the poet

when poet and poetess meet for the recital

it is not the show of an individual

but a show of understanding for mankind

and we can certainly see the spirit and find

 

it may be on mother's day

or for that matter any other day

it is real and shows the gratitude

in words and in an attitude

 

what poet can do today?

in many ways

by putting the matter indifferent manner

and taking an easy course to offer

 

the time has changed now

the poets have also become fame hungry

they request the readers to read their creation

and offer same treatment in relation

 

with few poems, in the collection,

they rush for publication

as if it is a prized possession

but main duty as the poet is forgotten
