Christianity and other myths

She said: ''You forget about

the fall back position

of Christianity:

'Limbo'

According to the Catholic church

all 'souls' that had no faith

but were without sin-

ended up there.

I envisage

countless babies

crawling around for eternity,

crying for their mums!''

Hi Mart, Purgatory is a place of punishment before being sent through the pearly gates whereas Limbo is a place for those who have died before being Christened but have not sinned. ?

I presume by Limbo you mean purgatory that half way house created man. A very adroit observation as always Tommy.

Me again, ten years later! And look at Kealan, and Janet and Dave! They were such fine friends to share a new 'enterprise' with.

I'm so glad you're still 'on board' too. Where have ten years gone?

To win a game of Limbo
Seek heavenly reward
You gotta stoop real bloody low
And backward go, not forward

Who said anything 'bout religion ?

Probably best that I don't discuss my attitude towards religion, but much like Ricky Gervais once said in an interview, "There are a couple of thousand God's around the world and if you're a Christian, for example, you don't believe in 1,999 of them. Well I don't believe in just one more."

Limbo..that's the game where you see how low you can go, right?
That's ONE reason why I'm not Catholic anymore!
There's not enough space here to get into all the other reasons.
Rubbish

Mummy mummy where are you?
I'm waiting in the lost and found
Sign upon the door says 'Limbo'
Can't see no-one dancing round??

Is this someone's prankish joke?
(Limbo high and limbo low)
No my child you have no faith
Trouble is you've not sinned - so

Here you sits in limbo land

Wah!....

Tommy, every now and then you do one of these. Absolute corker and worth the wait. What a finish.

This poem makes my heart feel very heavy.
It's sad to think of all those poor souls in limbo with nowhere to go.
I believe that souls in the so-named place of limbo are lost and need a little assistance to move into the light. I believe the human can enter a state of being in limbo too.
With or without sin.

Tommy I agree that Limbo is a barmy idea. The best presentation of it all I've come across is in The Great Divorce by C S Lewis

Unusual and thought provoking. I especially like your opinion of the church. My understanding of a christian after-world is that it is merely a ghost story to scare people into "acceptable" behaviour.
