Good night’s sleep, shower, breakfast,

car loaded an away

Another early start to the day

But it’s hard to find something to write about,

Stuck in a traffic jam 17 miles out

Of San Antonio, it’s hard to regale

About cars being nose to tail

After a while it’s clear an’ we’re away, gps runnin’ well then “oh hell”

The days hopes in vain, it’s playin’ up again

Still my search on Google may bear fruit,

I’ve studied and memorised the route

It should be fine; the road is virtually a straight line

Then later along the way, it comes back into play

In McAllen it tells me where to turn right, an’ to my delight

I find it’s exactly the same route I had in mind

Soon I’m at journeys end, an’ a welcome hug from a very dear friend

And Ivy his little pet her best welcome yet
