Likes and Dislikes

 

I love crumpets toasted by an open fire

covered lavishly with butter

which seeps through those dotted crevices

and are blissful to eat when warm

 

I like railway stations and trains

platforms full of different folk

trying to guess where they are going to

peering into the buffet and waiting rooms

 

I desire the deepest of sleeps

where no dreams exist to haunt or confuse

a deep well of darkness that enfolds

and causes one to drown and be immersed

 

I am interested in words

what they connvey or conceal

their power to describe

how they appear and are spelt

 

I loathe supermarkets

where people are rude as they push and shove

where flourescent lights make me feel dizzy 

and children behave badly

 

I hate lies and deceit

the damage they cause

how trust and love are broken

their origins in selfishness

 

I dislike pears

as the have a gritty taste

awkward to hold

and look odd

 

I abhor prejudice

discrimination of any kind

as it is negative and destructive

and achieves absolutely nothing
