I am covered in art.

Take a second to let that sink in 

...

I am covered in the art of words.

They may be hidden on the skin that surrounds my body. 

 

But they are there. 

 

I know because I endured the pain it took to etch them across my skin. 

 

They tell a story. 

 

They have been created by a range of artists.

Which means that no style or font is the same. 

Forever changing becoming my own. 

 

Some of the art on my body has come from books due to the impact they have on my life.

They have helped me explore different worlds and 

I have found meaning in them that I cannot explain through speech. 

 

So instead I let my skin explain them for me. 

I hold on to the quotations that make me cry or smile,

And turn them into a part of me. 

 

I also have quotation marks behind my ears, 

These not only tell my story but observe the worlds.

 

And one day

I promise you

I will leave this world telling of tales from a past not long ago. 

Becoming a story of my own.
