Presently studying  Hebrew Bible poetry,  from a perspective of Literature of the Ancient Levant. The jewish nation  hasa written History reaching back 5,000 years and includes quite a variety of forms, such as  odes, Elegies, liturgial Psalms, monidies , proverbs, Epic Poetry, Lyric Poetry , Lyric IDYL,  romantic poetry and more.  of course the Ballad song was the primitive  form of most civilizations,     I was attracted to ancient Hebrew Poetry, for one reason because it doesn't employ  Western culture metre, syllable counting, and rhyme.  But rather symmetry of clauses.  Well to me it's  fascinating ,  the variety of the employment of this method is impressive.   I thought I.  would share that little snippet of  cultural knowledge...  terry
