EXCUSE ME

I know you'll excuse me when I write

In terms of envy, spleen and spite.

Holding forth in finger pointing finality

From my mountain summit of morality.

The well to do are there to be got at,

(If I had my way they would be shot at!).

Suspicious of their money and how they make it

Has me thinking of ways to take it.

And those that say they do their best

I find it easy to detest...

Jumping to a preferred conclusion

Before the evidence clears confusion.

I see myself as a caring voice,

Condemnation is my choice.

If you think me too quick to take a stand

Don't look to me to shake your hand.

Harry - these days "steal" seems to possess a very fluid
meaning - depending on a viewpoint.
A professional football club charging the cost of a weekly
family food bill for admission to 90 mins of often poorly
executed sporting activity comes within that definition in
my book; as does the richly rewarded show-biz type
whose value for money is rarely challenged or criticised.
But at least choice exists for the payer, whereas money
seized from our pockets via various taxes, direct and
indirect, certainly needs the closest inspection when it
comes to how it's obtained and how it's spent. So, I go
with you about "following the money" in that respect.
There is - and has probably always been - a tendency for the politically employed to treat public money with
careless abandon, frittering it away on projects and
personal power-enabled policies while in office, and
using it to propel personal advancement, obtaining
out of office employment with newspapers and companies that pursue the old pals ploy of "political advisors".

M.C.
One should always be suspicious of how money is made.
(and also how it is spent)..In this way one can be equally against the shifty capitalist and the benefit cheater... the trick is to always `follow the money`

The principle is always; `Thou shalt not steal`

(now where have I heard that before?)
