Auschwitz : Never Again

AUSCHWITZ  :  NEVER AGAIN

Never again they cry

Never again they cry

A holocaust which is no lie

Never again they cry

The sons and daughters of David, six million lost

a price of unbearable cost

Slaughtered in ways beyond belief

lives taken by a Teutonic thief

There was no discrimination

all were herded to extermination

The old, the young no one spared

with cold faces so horribly scared

Yet these poor souls were not alone

others were dragged from their home

Gypsy,communist, dissident and gay

all came here the price to pay

Humanity bore the brunt of this pain

as countless numbers were mercilessly slain

Never again the survivors cry

A holocaust which is no lie

Very sad, and as you say. Very though provoking.

We visited Belsen when I served in Germany, and what happened there was beyond belief.

first line of the third verse "there was no discrimination", I know what you meant by that, but of course it was discrimination that put them there in the first place.

the style in which you wrote this, suited the subject matter perfectly, and made for a moving and thought provoking read.
