Dawn of the Election

Swaying in the wind on the lunchtime news

It is never the case of what is actually the truth

Or who is lying until their teeth melt

Or rip you off in ridiculous strokes

Who is trying to pass the biggest parcel around

In an epic pass the parcel game

Stretching out across cities

And playing with millions of lives,

Who will make you sleep better at night?

And who will reduce the pressure on the neediest

And get the endless rows of homeless off the streets

No matter what the statistics are claiming.

Decease the rising tide of domestic violence

Which are trapping people in invisible worlds

Leaving the victim with nowhere to turn to

Whether 10 minutes ago or 10 years ago,

It is never the case whether the truth is

An apostrophe or a comma

Offering the same answer

With just a slight change.

Think for yourself

Before ticking away your life

And treat what they say

With a cartoon tiptoe.

Think over everything they say

When it is so oblivious

Her lies are weightless

In the heavy air on the screen

And we can overcome

Their chains

And reverse their damage

Before it is too late.
