Create a poem to mark Dylan Thomas Day

entry picture

Young people aged seven to 25 from all over the world are being invited to take part in Love the Words, an online competition to celebrate International Dylan Thomas Day. How to take part? Download the opening paragraphs from Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, cut up the words, and use them to create your own poem, take a photo, and share it with the world on Twitter. Use the hashtags #LovetheWords and #DylanDay so everyone can see your poem - and use the same hashtags to see everyone else’s, too. The competition is open for entries until midnight on Friday 5 May. Poems may be in either English or in Welsh. A selection of entries will be chosen by Hannah Ellis, granddaughter of Dylan Thomas, and displayed on the website Discover Dylan Thomas.com on International Dylan Thomas Day, Sunday 14 May.
