From Friendship to Love (IV)

And once things have transited
From friendship to love
It is never the case
That things will never
Be the same again

Or you’ll never be able
To do any of the things
That first drew us together
Whether texting each other
At six in the morning

Or sat there lost in thought
Each other words at literature nights
Even after the other one
Has read and has been asking you
What did you think?

Twisting molecules
Into a new kind of paradise
Fastened deep to your heart
Expanding like roses
In the wind

Catching changes in the breeze
Looking at everything before
As a prologue to whatever comes next
Or deprived of direction
Until you met

Scissoring changes
Into signed text
As your hands
Close over each others
With a gentle touch

And everything you did solo
Turns colour in love
Instead of a whisper led
Monochrome grey
Lost in the rain.

Great piece Andy - really enjoyed reading it. I think you meant to write 'able' on the first line of the second stanza.

I think my favourite is the fourth stanza . Another good poem Andy. A wonderful description of the way love might feel.
Nice one
