Performance poetry publisher wants collection submissions

entry picture

Performance poetry publisher Burning Eye Books is looking for submissions for poetry collections from people “active on the UK performance / spoken word poetry scene for publication between January and December 2018”. Burning Eye describes itself as “a small independent publisher in the south-west predominately specialising in promoting spoken word artists. We aim to dispel the assumption that performance poetry does not transfer well to page as well as give emerging and established artist opportunities to be published where they might be rejected from other traditional poetry publishers.”

The “upstart indie punk publishing co” is introducing a reading fee for submissions, which is “partly intended as a firewall to ensure we only receive submissions from people who are serious about being published by Burning Eye. All proceeds from this will be donated to charity.” The closing date for submisions is 31 March. More details
