Kissing The Lips Of The Sea

entry picture

to taste you is to know

the subliminal secrets

of your shelled soul

your aphrodisia

a mineral-rich mystery

held in milky flesh

one dozen oysters

the sum of my desires

quintessential

ambrosia-filled gems

a harvest of Neptune's treasure

each anticipation of your essence

each cleaving of your fleshy heart

each briny taste of your nectar

awakens in me the sensual delight

of kissing the lips of the sea

Stu, I cannot thank you enough for this praise. I am indebted to you. I remember clearly every encouraging comment you have posted about my poems and I keep in mind what you said about how being on WoL helped your writing to develop.

You are so perceptive to recognise that I feel I have found something so 'special'! I hope to continue writing and learning and to get more involved in readings, etc after I return to the UK next month.

Hats off to you kind sir,

Paul

this is an excellent piece of writing and the best part for me is the confidence that is seeping osmotically into your work. i like to think i have been there once or twice, where each line flows from the next and each word has a place and time within the poem. i know it feels good so i am happy for you, that you have found that special 'something' that each of us on here, and perhaps each of us in life, hopes to find, hopes to express.

Hi Col,

Thank you for scribing such sumptuous words! I tried to describe my love for oysters in terms of being the epitome of food heaven.

I want to say a massive thank you for your encouragement about so many of my postings. Your honest, constructive observations are one of the joys of being on here. Sending you a sincere man-hug to express my gratitude ?

unabashed and orgiastic - a veritable Roman banquet of sensuality and a fitting celebration for your 50th poem. Do you have a midden of empty shells in your back yard?

Why thank you, Emer! It's lovely to hear from you.

I meant every word I wrote! I just adore oysters and so wish I could eat them more often. But having a treat to look forward to now and again keeps me happy enough ?

Thank you for reading and commenting.

Thanks Suki, that's very kind of you to say. You may not post frequently on here but, as I'm sure many fellow WoLer's would agree, your crafted poems are well worth waiting for!

Kind regards,

Paul

Paul,

Happy 50th! Look forward to the next 50. You are pretty prolific, I can only manage between 2-3 poems a month.

Hi to all my fellow Write Out Louders.

This is the 50th poem I have posted on here since I joined in December.

I would like to say, sincerely (without blowing smoke up your 'you-know-wheres') how grateful I am to so many of you for taking time to read my stuff and liking and commenting. It has been such an inspiration and a confidence-builder.

Now please help yourselves to oysters (or anything else you might prefer from the ample fish, meat and veggie buffet). Oh, and in case I forget, there's a free bar ?

Aythangyow all, Paul
