untitled

early evening, early autumn glow

            as mersey mist descends

bright as mid summer but fresh

21st century silhouettes

peaceful

like a new start

smoke rises on the water

21st century sounds

grumble

i'm no longer the rural riddle

and i don’t miss it… much

this is the new start

and looking out onto early evening

mersey mist

there are no sewers spewing smells

i can’t see the ground

there is no conversation

that grumble? low like a tiger

is continuous like music

and the swell of the river’s ebbs and flows

slows down my breathing

until i am hibernating

i never thought i could be happy again

I like a lot of this, Lydia. 'the rural riddle' is really good; also 'no sewers spewing smells'; especially 'slows down my breathing until i am hibernating'; and '21st century silhouettes'.

i like this, Lydia.. the last line is a bit tellie perhaps but i think it needs to be told!
